Kendall County Senior Providers donates to FVOAS

Fox Valley Older Adult Services is the 2016 recipient of the annual Kendall County Senior Providers donation of $500. KCSP is dedicated to educate, interact and support inter-generational opportunities within the senior community. Members are from government funded agencies, nonprofit organizations and businesses.

This donation will enhance the quality of life for the many seniors who attend FVOAS’ Adult Day Service by providing iPods and simple games. The minds, bodies and spirits of Adult Day Service clients are enriched by the influence of music and game playing. There are tested results that programs that incorporate music and game playing have been very successful when used with dementia and Alzheimer’s clients.

The donation will also enable the Home Services department to purchase gloves and gate belts for use by their aides in serving seniors in Kendall County. FVOAS is a member of KCSP.

FVOAS, through its Senior Center, Home Services and Adult Day Service, offers activities and services to seniors in Kendall County along with Kane, DeKalb, LaSalle and Bureau counties. A wider populace of seniors, who may have previously not qualified, can now be served through the Private Home Services program.

Through community support, FVOAS will continue to assist many seniors in living vital and independent lives and avoiding unnecessary and early nursing home placement. Call 815-786-9404 for more information on programs and services and to find out how you can become involved.
