The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers and other seniors at Senior Services Associates participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring, a food collection program held annually to help our local food pantries in their mission to feed the hungry.

In senior centers in Aurora and in Yorkville, boxes were set out beginning with Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On Super Bowl weekend, over 60 pounds of food was delivered to Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry in Aurora, and just over 60 pounds was delivered to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry in Yorkville. Volunteers counted and weighed the items before delivering them to the pantries. In addition to nonperishable food items, cash donations were also accepted for the local pantries
