Plano Christian Church will be having a special celebration in honor of Pastor Stan Motley and his wife, Katherine, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 5. The Motleys are celebrating their 25th year of ministry at PCC.
Pastor Stan and his family moved to Plano on Feb. 28, 1992, after ministering in Fisher, Illinois, for 10 years. Stan’s first Sunday in the pulpit at PCC was March 1, 1992.
Over the past 25 years, Stan and Kathy have served in many areas of ministry in both the church and community. Stan has ministered through preaching, family counseling, wedding ceremonies, funeral services, baby dedications, men’s ministry, mission outreach projects, and serving on the local ministerial council.
Kathy has organized and served in the children’s ministry, women’s ministry, retreats and the production of the Living Christmas Tree ministry, which brought the message of Christ at Christmas to the community through drama, music and thousands of lights for 15 years.
Their older son, Joshua, served the church as a worship minister, has been on mission trips to South Africa, and is currently a paraprofessional with the Yorkville School District.
Their younger son, Lucas, served the church as associate minister of creative arts and small groups for five years, and he is currently the associate pastor of discipleship of New Life Community Church in Gardner, Kansas.
The celebration will include a worship service where Pastor Stan will be sharing a message about the Top 10 Lessons Learned in 25 Years at the Same Church, with a cake reception to follow. Everyone is invited to attend. The church is at 9 Schomer Lane, Plano.
