Yorkville mayor, council recognize Waubonsee Community College on 50 years

Yorkville Mayor Gary Golinski and the City Council recognized Waubonsee Community College for 50 years of service at the Feb. 28 City Council meeting. With Golinski are Lulu Blacksmith (left), Waubonsee’s director of government and multicultural affairs, and Waubonsee President Dr. Christine Sobek. A 50-year reunion event is scheduled from 1:30 to 4 p.m. this Thursday, March 9, at the college’s Academic and Professional Center on Waubonsee’s Sugar Grove campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.
