Plano police reports

Seek info in home invasion

Plano police are continuing their investigation into a home invasion that occurred in the 300 block of South Cook Street March 8. Police said a male African-American subject made entry into the residence through an unlocked door. Police said the suspect was described as being approximately 25 to 30 years-old, of average build, and dressed in dark clothing with a hooded sweatshirt. Police said the suspect displayed a black handgun to the victim who was at home along with two children. The suspect took cash and other items before leaving the residence through the front door at approximately 11:48 a.m.

Police said they believe the incident is an isolated one and is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department’s investigations division at 630-552-2122.

Motorist cited

Plano police cited Elia Vazquez, 33, of Plano for operating an uninsured motor vehicle after the vehicle she was driving was involved in a crash on Route 34 at Mitchell Drive March 13 at 6:42 a.m. Police said no one was hurt in the crash.

Warrant arrest

Plano police arrested Adrian Herrera, 22, of the 500 block of South Hugh Street, Plano, while responding to a report of domestic trouble at his residence March 13 at 10:58 a.m. Police said Herrera was arrested on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of possession of between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis. Police said the suspect was booked and later released after being given a new court date in Yorkville.

Juvenile struck by train

Plano police reported that a female juvenile suffered non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a train approximately one-quarter mile east of the Needham Road train crossing March 7 at 7:01 p.m. Police said they located the juvenile with the assistance of Little Rock Fox Fire Protection District paramedics who transported her to an area hospital. Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing and they are being assisted by the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway and Amtrak police.

Driving while license suspended

Plano police arrested Joseph Malacara, 19, of the 300 block of East Clark Street, Plano, on a charge on a charge of driving while license suspended after stopping his vehicle in the area of Hemmingsen Street and Canham Street March 9 at 3:55 p.m. Police said the suspect was later released pending a court appearance.
