16-year-old Plainfield girl dies in Walker Rd. crash

A 16-year-old girl from Plainfield was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the area of Walker Road and Arbeiter Road in unincorporated Na-Au-Say Township Tuesday evening, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

Police said Sheriff's deputies responded to the intersection at approximately 4:58 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle car accident where the vehicle struck a utility pole.

Police said when deputies arrived, the driver of the car, a 16-year-old female, was being treated for her injuries by Plainfield paramedics.

The passenger, identified as Alyssa Smith, 16, of the 2000 block of River Bend Lane, Plainfield, was located in the vehicle and transported to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet by Plainfield paramedics, where she was later pronounced dead, according to Sheriff's police.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash with the assistance from Illinois State Police.
