Yorkville police reports

Battery charge after bar fight

Yorkville police arrested two men April 9 at 12:40 a.m. following a fight at a bar in the 1200 block of North Bridge Street. Police said they were dispatched to a fight in progress at the bar, and upon arrival there were multiple people in the parking lot arguing. Police said it was determined that Keith Olsen, 39, of the 300 block of Bertram Drive, Yorkville, and James Delaney, 47, of the 5000 block of Audrey Drive, Yorkville, both punched another male in the face. Both men were charged with battery, police said.

Suspended license

Yorkville police arrested Edward D. Tornga, 47, of the 300 block of Railroad St., Millington, for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on April 6 at Route 71 and Sleepy Hollow Rd. Police said that in addition to being found driving on a suspended license, Tornga had a warrant out of DeKalb County for driving on a suspended license.

Cited in 3-vehicle crash

Yorkville police cited Jacquelin Lund, 21, of the 300 block of East Kendall Drive, Yorkville, April 7 with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash following a three-vehicle accident on Route 47 approximately 100 feet south of Wrigley Way. Police said Lund’s vehicle was traveling behind two vehicles going southbound on Route 47 when her vehicle allegedly struck the bumper of a Ford sedan in front of her. The Ford sedan was pushed into the vehicle in front of it, a GMC Terrain. Lund’s vehicle sustained major front end damage, police said. The driver of the Ford sedan, Arthur Anderson, 75, of the 700 block of Fellows St., St. Charles, received minor injuries and was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, police said. Lund’s vehicle and Anderson’s vehicle were towed from the scene, police said.

Cited in crash

Yorkville police cited Luis E. Ortiz-Olivan, 33, of the 1200 block of South Union St., Aurora, on April 7 with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to properly secure a child under 8 in a child restraint system following a crash on Route 34 near the Game Farm Road intersection. Police report that Ortiz-Olivan’s vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Dakota, was traveling westbound on Route 34 behind a 2007 Cadillac SRX also traveling westbound when Ortiz-Olivan’s vehicle struck the Cadillac from behind. The accident caused “extensive damage,” police said. Two of Ortiz-Olivan’s three passengers were injured and transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

Injuries in crash

Yorkville police cited Matthew K. Wheaton, 27, of the 1300 block of Carolyn Ct., Yorkville, with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following a two-vehicle crash on Route 34 approximately 1,500 feet east of Eldamain Road on April 8 at 2:30 a.m. Police said Wheaton was traveling westbound on Route 34 in a 2000 Ford F-250 pickup truck when he told police he did not see the taillights from a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Sandra Apantenco, 27, of the 2700 block of Hoffman St., Plano, and rear-ended Apantenco’s vehicle. Apantenco’s vehicle then crossed the road, went down an embankment and rolled over, police said. Police said Apantenco and her passenger, Gregoria Apantenco, 47, of the 1800 block of Stirling Lane, Montgomery, were injured and transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Apantenco’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and Wheaton’s truck was able to be driven away, police said.
