Dahveed McKinney from Plano was named to the Culver-Stockton College Honor Roll for academic achievement during the spring 2017 semester. To be named to an honors list, Culver-Stockton College requires students to meet high academic standards. Honor Roll students have earned between a 3.2 and 3.49 and were enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, with no grade lower than a C.
Local students earned degrees from the University of Illinois Springfield at the conclusion of the spring semester on May 13.
Plano resident James Robert Frederick graduated with a BS in computer science.
Comcast announced that it has awarded $1,000 “Leaders and Achievers Scholarships” to 174 graduating high school seniors in its Greater Chicago Region (GCR), which includes Central and Northern Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. Plano High School student Ashley Martinez was awarded one of the scholarships.
Through the program, Comcast provides scholarships to students who strive to achieve their full potential, are catalysts for positive change in their communities, are involved in their schools and serve as role models for their fellow students. The goal of the program is to demonstrate to students the importance of civic involvement and the value placed on it by the business community.
