Multiple police agencies conduct search in Bristol

Cannonball Trail in unincorporated Bristol was closed for a short period of time Thursday evening as Kendall County Sheriff's Deputies, assisted by police from state and other local agencies, executed a search warrant.

According to information provided by the sheriff's office, the search was conducted in the 0-99 bock of Cannonball Trail between between Hunt Street and North Street. Several homes and businesses are located on the one block section of Cannonball Trail which is located about one-half mile north of the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway tracks.

Police said the search warrant was related to multiple criminal investigations spanning multiple police jurisdictions.

Cannonball Trail was closed to traffic due to the large number of police officers involved in executing the warrant, according to police.

In addition to the sheriff's office, among the agencies with personnel participating in the search were Montgomery police, Yorkville police, the Illinois State Police Criminal Intelligence Team, the Kane County Sheriff's Office and the Kendall County Special Response Team.

Police describe the investigation as "ongoing." Additional information will be posted on KendallCountyNow.com as it becomes available.
