Oswego Fire Protection District firefighters rescued a kayaker from the Fox River in Oswego early Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters were summoned to the river at 12:30 p.m. on a report of a kayaker who had fallen out of his kayak and was clinging to a branch in the river.
Firefighters located the kayaker and pulled him from the river in the area of the 5000 block of Route 71.
The kayaker was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora for treatment of minor injuries, according to the fire district.
Another kayaker stranded near the kayaker who had been clinging to the branch was able to safely remove himself from the river.
In addition, firefighters assisted two other kayakers out of the river about one-quarter mile downstream, according to the fire district.
