Letter: Rotary Club thanks

To the Editor:

Rotary Club of Sandwich Illinois had a record-breaking year at the 130th annual Sandwich Fair.

Thanks to the community of Sandwich and to all members of the Board of the Sandwich Fair, to District Governor Steve Kuhn, Ream’s Meat Market and to all vendors and suppliers. Special thanks to our Rotary brothers and sisters from Ottawa, Mendota and Marseilles, Illinois.

We had a host of awesome volunteers: Sandwich High School’s golf club and honor students, Newark Lutheran Church, Timber Creek Lodge and so many friends and family members including the ever-faithful Johnnie K, thank you.

Congratulations to the 50/50 grand prize winner, Craig Evans from Oswego, Illinois. Two sisters, Mandi and Mia Wyatt from Streator, pulled the winning ticket at the raffle booth as manned by Nelda Pitelka and Linda Swanson.

The Sandwich Rotary Team, President Elect Marilyn Abbott, Treasurer James Swanson, Joe Emma, Larry and Wanda Fullmer, Grace King and past President Karen Tryblowski, worked hard to bring you the best food for the best price at the Fair! We had fun and made new friends. We saw the smiling faces of our loyal supporters of Rotary of Sandwich throughout our 43 years of participation; some are now all grown up with kids and grandkids of their own and the tradition continues. We look forward to seeing you next summer!

Please look for our March St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser as we are committed to promoting education and empowerment for our youth. More details to come.
