Online theft reported
A resident of the 0-99 block of Winrock Road in Boulder Hill filed a theft report with county sheriff’s deputies Oct. 9. Police said the victim told deputies that he had paid $90 Sept. 7 to purchase an item online that was not delivered. Police said they are investigating.
County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a retail theft that occurred at a business in the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass in Boulder Hill Oct. 2. Police said merchandise valued at $30 was stolen.
A resident of the 2700 block of Light Road in Oswego Township told county sheriff’s deputies Oct. 9 that someone stole his daughter’s bicycle from a commons area near their residence. The bicycle, which is valued at $80, was not secured at the time of the theft, police said.
Minor injuries in rollover crash
A Braidwood resident, Rodney D. Larid, 46, and Evelyn Bravo, 31, of Yorkville, along with a small child, were treated and released at the scene of a two-vehicle rollover crash on Route 126 and Schlapp Road in NaAuSay Township Oct. 8 at 7:21 p.m., according to the county sheriff’s office. Police said Laird was cited for improper parking on the roadway. Oswego Fire Protection District paramedics treated the motorists.
One hurt in Minkler crash
A 22-year-old motorist from Batavia was injured in a single-vehicle crash in the 6000 block of Minkler Road in Kendall Township Oct.6 at 5:35 p.m., according to the county sheriff’s office. The motorist was transported to an area hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Obstructing among charges
County sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph A. Valenzuela, 30, of Spring Garden Drive, Boulder Hill, after stopping his vehicle for having no rear registration plate light on Winrock Road at Fernwood Road in Boulder Hill Oct. 5 at 8:06 p.m. Police said Valenzuela was charged with driving on a suspended license and obstructing identification.
County sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph A. Valenzuela, 30, of Spring Garden Drive, Boulder Hill, Oct. 6 at 12:11 a.m. on Spring Garden Drive on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of larceny. Police said Valenzuela was transported to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
County sheriff’s deputies took a report of a battery that occurred in the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass Oct. 5 at 3:45 p.m. Police said the victim in the incident reported being struck in the head with a rock but received no injuries.
Property worth an estimated $100 was reported stolen from a residence in the 13000 block of McKanna Road near Minooka in Seward Township Oct. 5, according to the county sheriff’s office. Police said they are investigating.
County sheriff’s deputies arrested Russell Zwergel, 66, of the 3000 block of Patterson Road, on Oct. 3 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 71 and Washington Street in Oswego Township. Police said Zwergel was first transported to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, and once released from the hospital he was arrested and transported to the Kendall County jail in Yorkville. Zwergel was also cited for improper lane usage, police said.
County sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Walker, 54, of the 100 block of Joliet Road, Lisbon, on Oct. 3 on a Grundy County warrant for failing to appear in court on a deceptive practices charge.
