Yorkville police said no charges would be forthcoming against a man who approached a group of kids at a park on Oct. 9.
Police had received a report that a man had approached a group of five boys playing football and that they were told the man offered to teach the boys how to tackle and tell them stories from when he was in the Army.
Police said they spoke with the man on Oct. 11. He told police that he stopped to speak with the children after observing an altercation between them, and spoke to them briefly about their behavior.
"The male did state that he offered for the children to play with his children near his residence but denied offering to teach them to tackle or telling them graphic war stories," the police stated in a press release.
Police said the man cooperated with their investigation and the case will be closed.
