Celebrating fairness at Haskin School

Lynn G. Haskin Elementary School students began our annual social/emotional behavior program Character Counts by learning about the pillar of fairness. Students were asked about different scenarios and game spinners to decide if they were fair or unfair. We wore orange this month to show our support of being a fair student and staff. Students also were introduced or reviewed “bucket filling” and “bucket dipping.” “Bucket filling” is when you do something nice for someone else and not only is his or her bucket filled, but your bucket is filled, too. “Bucket dipping” is doing something not-so-nice, causing water to spill out of the bucket. Haskin encourages every student, every day to make wonderful choices so all of Haskin’s buckets are overflowing.
