To the Editor:
When we moved from Winfield to Yorkville in 2015, we were excited to join a community with such a strong agricultural base. We believed the crops to be mostly corn and soybean but after regularly reading the Record it is apparent there is also a lot of whine grown here.
Every week the unhappiness with the country and local community representatives is shared in the letters published. It is like reading a summary from Charlie Brown’s teacher. The same “Blah, Blah, Blah” over and over again.
While there are many numerous current and proposed government policies we do not support, we are extremely proud of our country and of the local community. We have had many positive experiences locally volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Feed My Starving Children and the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. There is also a wonderful network of forest preserves and parks that we frequent.
It is easy to appreciate this community when you get out and become part of it.
Happy to be here.
