Police have made arrests for the second time in a month for alleged prostitution in Oswego massage parlors.
Oswego police and the Kendall County Sheriff's Office arrested two women this week on charges of prostitution that police say occurred at two Oswego massage parlors.
Oswego police arrested Feng Ju Li, 46, of the 100 block of Hillstone Road, Montgomery, on Nov. 8 on charges of prostitution and aiding and abetting unlicensed massage; and Kendall County deputies arrested Xiuhua Liao, 52, of the 5300 block of Route 34, Oswego, on Nov. 9 on charges of prostitution and unlicensed massage.
All the charges are Class A misdemeanors, according to police. Class A misdemeanors in Illinois carry a sentence of up to one year in prison and fines of up to $2,500, according to state statutes.
Police said Li was arrested at the massage parlor she owns located in the 0-10 block of East Merchants Drive in Oswego; and Liao was arrested at a parlor located in the 5300 block of Route 34 in Oswego Township where she is an employee. Li was released on recognizance bond and has a court date of Dec. 4; Liao posted a $1,500 bond and has a court date of Nov. 28.
The Merchants Drive parlor was also issued an ordinance ticket for a building occupancy code violation, police said. The business registration is suspended until the violation is resolved, police said.
This is the second time police have arrested women for prostitution at Oswego massage parlors. In late October, Oswego police arrested Yiling Peng, 55, with a last known address of the 4000 block of Route 71, Oswego, on misdemeanor charges of prostitution and unlicensed massage at a spa located in the 4500 block of Route 71 in the village. They also arrested Yune Zhou, 50, of the 1800 block of South Melody Court, Chicago, on a misdemeanor charge of aiding and abetting an unlicensed massage.
The next court date for Peng and Zhou is Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m.
