Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder of Oswego (center) announces his candidacy for re-election along with County Board member Matt Prochaska of Yorkville (left) and Board Vice Chairman Lynn Cullick of Oswego in front of the Historic Kendall County Courthouse on Monday, Dec. 4.

With the exception of Bob “H.D.” Davidson, who has decided not to run for re-election, the four incumbent Kendall County Board members up for re-election next year filed as candidates during the filing period, which ended on Monday, Dec. 4, for the March 20, 2018, primary election.

Also, County Sheriff Dwight Baird, Treasurer Jill Ferko and Clerk Debbie Gillette are running for re-election next year.

All of the county candidates who filed are Republican and will compete in their party’s primary. Other parties have the opportunity to slate candidates after the primary to compete with Republicans who won the primary in the November general election.

Candidates who filed for county offices for the March Republican primary election were: County Clerk and Recorder of Deeds, Debbie Gillette, 1611 Cypress Lane, Yorkville; Sheriff, Dwight Baird, 37 Robert Road, Oswego; Treasurer, Jill Ferko, 624 Bluestem Drive, Yorkville.

For County Board, District 1, for three seats, incumbents Judy Gilmour, 1345 Chestnut Circle, Yorkville; and Matt Prochaska, 50 S. Royal Oaks Drive, Yorkville; and challengers Roger Blomgren, 2055 Bernadette Lane, Yorkville; and Todd Milliron, 61 Cotswold Drive, Yorkville.

Blomgren is a broker with Inland Real Estate in Yorkville. Milliron is an insurance agent and a frequent critic of local government. Milliron has run unsuccessfully for County Board in the 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 elections.

For County Board, District 2, for two seats, incumbents Scott Gryder, 4630 McLaren Drive, Oswego; and Lynn Cullick, 232 Angela Circle, Oswego; and challenger Dan Koukol, 1690 Collins, Oswego.

Koukol is a former County Board member who lost the 2016 Republican primary after serving one term on the board. Koukol ran unsuccessfully for Oswego Township supervisor in the spring 2017 election.
