To the Editor:
Oswegoland Woman’s Civic Club was pleased to present their annual donation of pajamas to Mutual Ground at their meeting of Wednesday, Nov. 15. Kathy Melone, Advancement Director at Mutual Ground updated us on all the services they provide to women who have been physically and sexually abused and what a difference it makes in their lives. The Club has been giving them these new pajamas for a number of years. The Club also provides gifts for Santa’s workshop at Mutual Ground so parents can give a gift to their children and their children can give a gift to their Mom. Isn’t that what this holiday season is all about?
The Woman’s Club once again participated in the village’s annual Christmas Walk on Dec. 1, selling their homemade cookies and having Christmas cards for vets signed and then to be delivered to local nursing homes and Illinois Veterans Homes to thank our retired servicemen for all they did on behalf of our country. They didn’t forget us and we won’t forget them.
Many thanks to Hudson Design House for rolling out the red carpet to us to make both of those activities and fundraiser so successful. We can’t thank them enough for their consideration.
