To the Editor:
I received an email from U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren, R-Plano, gushing about how the Republican tax plan will help a certain local company hire more people. He went on about how corporations are not Scrooge McDuck. Perhaps he didn’t see when Gary Cohn asked a room full of 30-some corporate CEOs how many were going to use the tax cuts for investments in their businesses and only three hands went up. “Why aren’t more hands up?” he asked. Because they will use the extra money to pay down debt and buy back stock is why, many have said so.
Perhaps one of these many new jobs Mr. Hultgren says will be created will be suitable for him after the Blue Wave of 2018.
