To the Editor:
The Norsk Museum wishes to express immense gratitude to the many who made our Nov. 18 smorgasbord a huge success. “Tusen Takk” to all who bought tickets and partook of our bountiful buffet; local patrons, extended area patrons and those who came from out of state.
To area media outlets who did a splendid job of advertising for us: The Times (Ottawa), Morris Daily Herald, KendallCountyNow.com, Valley Life and WCMY radio.
To the Cleng Peerson and Polar Star lodges, Kathy Hanson and her team from Country Girl Catering in Leland, Norway Store in ways too numerous to mention, Serena High School students in the National Honor Society and student council – willing workers all.
With the proceeds, the Norsk Museum can now continue with the much-needed restorative plastering of the 1852 church (former Hauge Lutheran Church) housing the museum. The church/museum is honored to be on the National Register of Historic Buildings and it is vital to be good stewards by proceeding with its preservation as we get funding.
