Three hurt in Rt. 34 crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Orchard Road at Route 34 Dec. 30 at 1:23 p.m., according to Oswego police. Police said the drivers of the two vehicles involved, Emily A. Wilson, 20, of Yorkville and Christopher Dvorak, 38, of Oswego, were injured along with a passenger in Wilson’s vehicle, Laura Zendell, 19, of New London, Wisconsin. Police said Wilson and Zendell were taken to an area hospital, while Dvoark was not hospitalized. Police said they ticketed Wilson for failure to yield turning left. She is scheduled to appear in court on the charge next month.

Juvenile escapes injury

A 17-year-old boy escaped injury when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway on Waterford Drive at Anthony Court Dec. 26 at 3:59 p.m. and struck a tree, Oswego police reported. Police said damage as a result of the crash was estimated at over $1,500.

Juvenile cited in crash

Oswego police ticketed a juvenile driver for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a two-vehicle crash on Harvey Road at Treasure Drive Dec. 29 at 4:50 p.m. Police said no one was hurt in the crash.

Theft suspect arrested

Oswego police arrested a 15 -year-old on a charge of retail theft at a store in the 2700 block of Route 34 at 10:44 p.m. Dec. 30. Police said the suspect attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at $93.98.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested Durano Mathieu, 38, of the 100 block of Eisenhower Drive, Oswego, at Route 34 and Douglas Road Dec. 30 at 12:49 a.m. on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court.

Motorist arrested

Oswego police arrested Jaikeria I. Cameron, 24, of the 900 block of West New York Street, Aurora, after stopping her vehicle Dec. 29 at 11:18 p.m. on Route 30 at Douglas Road. Police said Cameron faces charges of driving on a suspended license and driving on an expired registration.

Arrest two after crash

Oswego police arrested Marcial Delgado, 32, of Aurora and Daisy Ortiz, 30, also of Aurora, after the vehicle Ortiz was driving was involved in a crash on Route 34 at Douglas Road Dec. 26 at 4:19 p.m. Police said Delgado was arrested on a warrant, while Ortiz was charged with driving on a suspended license. Police said the driver of the other vehicle, a juvenile from Marseilles, was not injured.

Arrested after crash

Oswego police arrested John R. Zemater, 35, of Aurora, at Route 30 and Harvey Road Dec. 28 at 4:35 p.m. on a warrant after the vehicle he was driving ran over a stop sign. Police said damage in the accident was estimated at over $1,500, police said.

Retail theft investigated

Oswego police are investigating a retail theft that occurred at a store in the 2700 block of Route 34 Dec. 31 at 10:20 p.m. Police said merchandise valued at $111 was taken.

Domestic battery arrest

Oswego police arrested Darrell N. Bell, 22 of the 300 block of Bucktail Drive, Oswego, on a charge of domestic battery Dec. 29 at 6:10 p.m. Police said Bell was taken to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.

Motorist ticketed in crash

Oswego police ticketed Daniela Mendoza, 34, of the 3200 block of Tamaira Street, Plano, after her vehicle was involved in a crash on Douglas Road at the entrances to the Townes Crossing shopping center Dec. 30 at 5:33 p.m. Police said Mendoza was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. No injuries were reported in the crash and Mendoza is scheduled to appear in court on the citations next month.
