Two hurt, one cited in crash
Two people received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Route 34 at Ben Street Jan. 6 at 8:33 a.m., according to Plano police. Police said the crash occurred when a Ford Escape being driven west on Route 34 by Marian K. Gessner, 77, of the 200 block of Boulder Hill Pass, Boulder Hill, went through a red light and struck a northbound Chevrolet Equinox that had a green light. Police said Little Rock-Fox Fire Protection District paramedics transported the two occupants of the Equinox to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, where they were treated and released. Police said they cited Gessner for disobeying a traffic control device and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Plano police arrested Gregorio Herrera Jr., 30, of the 800 block of West Route 34, Plano, after stopping his vehicle on Klatt Street at Foli Street Jan. 4 at 10:35 p.m. Police said Herrera has been charged with driving on a suspended license. He later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.
Plano police arrested Kyle C. Showerman, 19, of the 2500 block of Hartfield Drive, Montgomery, after stopping his vehicle at Route 34 and Mitchell Drive Jan. 7 at 11:41 p.m. Police said Showerman was arrested on a Kane County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of driving on a suspended license.
Plano police arrested Jorge Martinez Jr., 37, of the 200 block of North Cook Street, Jan. 5 at his residence on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of driving on a suspended license. Police said Martinez was later released after being given a new court date and posting bond.
