Yorkville police reports

Information in Police Reports is obtained from local police departments. Individuals in Police Reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proved guilty in court.

School bus hits police car

Yorkville police ticketed the driver of a school bus carrying eight juvenile passengers on charges of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after the bus collided with a Montgomery police vehicle at 5:46 p.m. Feb. 1. Police said Jacob Austin, 30, of the 500 block of North View Street, Hinckley, was driving the bus west on Galena Road east of Route 47 when he attempted to make a u-turn and struck the police vehicle, which was responding to an accident with its lights activated.

Suspended license

Yorkville police arrested Ernest Salinas, 43, of the 500 block of Madison Court, Yorkville, at 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 2 on charges of driving while license suspended following a traffic stop.

Vicious animal ticket

Yorkville police cited Jeffrey S. Fahle, 58, of the 2300 block of Sumac Drive, Yorkville, at 8:58 a.m. on Feb. 3 with dangerous domestic animals or vicious domestic animals after police said his dog was found in a neighbor's yard. Police said they responded a call about an animal ordinance violation.

Damaged tiles at vacant business

Yorkville police took a report Jan. 31 that sometime between Jan. 25 and 31, someone damaged ceramic tile flooring at a vacant business in the 0-100 block of Countryside Parkway.

Suspended license arrest after crash

Yorkville police arrested Terra D. Eplin, 30, of the 2300 block of Aux Sable Road, Morris, on charges of driving with a suspended license following a two-vehicle accident at 4:05 p.m. Feb. 5 on Route 47 at Route 126. Police said Eplin's vehicle was stopped in the northbound lane of Route 47 at Route 126 when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. The other driver in the accident, Cody Sales, 23, of the 6500 block of Chicago Road, Yorkville, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and both drivers were cited for having no insurance.
