Civic club will meet Feb. 28 in Oswego

Oswegoland Woman’s Civic Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Oswego Fire Station No. 1, at 3511 Wooley Road, Oswego. Enter through the main entrance and go to your right to the large conference room. Co-hostesses will be Ann Lannert and Judy Siedlecki.

One of the club’s Jr. High Campership recipients, Eiken Nguyen, will give a short presentation on the summer class he took at the College of DuPage called “Digital Arts and Animation.” Art Appreciation checks will be disbursed to representatives from local elementary schools.

Snack and individually wrapped food items such as cookies, chips, crackers, gum, fruit snacks or hard candy will be collected for Hands of Hope treat bags to be delivered to the Dreyer Cancer Center for patients. Carole Houck is in charge of the program and works with Celebrate Differences MORE group to package the treat bags. Also, a raffle will be held which benefits the Kendall County Community Food Pantry.

On April 25, the club will be celebrating its 90th year of community service to Oswegoland and sharing memories among its old and new members. If you are a previous member or know someone who is, spread the word and call Judy Smith at 630-554-8097 to ensure your dinner reservation.

The clubs welcomes anyone interested in joining or just learning more to attend the Feb. 28 meeting. For more information, call President Kathy Guseman at 630-554-5848 or Vice President Siedlecki at 630-551-1852.
