A Newark man has been charged with felony sexual assault in connection with an incident last year involving a 14-year-old juvenile, according to police.
The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office has charged Donald Lage, 37, of the 400 block of Chicago Road, Newark with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, both felonies, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
A judge set Lage's bond at $100,000 with 10 percent to apply, police said.
The Sheriff's Office said deputies in November responded to a report of a 14-year-old juvenile that police were told had been the victim of sexual abuse in July.
Deputies determined that Lage was an acquaintance of the juvenile, police said.
Following a Sheriff's Office investigation, the State's Attorney's Office filed charges against Lage on Feb. 23, police said.
