On behalf of the Sandwich Community School District 430 Debt Service Extension Base (DSEB) referendum committee, we would like to thank all of those who voted in the March 20 referendum. The voter-approved DSEB referendum will provide the necessary revenue to pay for life-safety work that is mandated by the state. We appreciate the support our school district received and we respect the decision of voters.
The DSEB steering committee comprised of parents and citizens did a very good job of presenting factual information to the voters and we thank them for their participation. The Board of Education established two goals when addressing the life-safety projects: 1) to generate revenue to pay for the mandated life-safety projects, and 2) to provide tax relief. Passage of this referendum will allow for the board to meet both goals.
Thanks again to those who voted in the school referendum.
