Auditions planned for Indian Valley Theatre’s ‘Scrooge – The Radio Musical'

Auditions are coming up for Indian Valley Theatre’s production of “Scrooge – The Radio Musical.” Many voices are needed, from sixth-graders to adults.

Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Community Room at the Sandwich Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in Sandwich, and are open to the public.

Come prepared for the audition to sing a short song a capella and do a cold reading from the script. No appointment is necessary, and IVT membership is not required to audition, although it is required if you are cast. Audition forms may be downloaded prior to auditioning on IVT’s website, www.indianvalleytheatre.com.

In this hit radio musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” Ebenezer Scrooge is the definition of a miser. He is rich, but completely stingy with his money. On Christmas Eve, however, Scrooge is in store for a rude awakening.

Performances will be Dec. 7-9 at the Sandwich Opera House. Music for the show will be memorized and the play will be performed by reading from the script during the performances.

For information about the play, call director Kathie Hart at 815-786-4878. Please leave your name, a message and a phone number.
