Yorkville Mayor Gary Golinski recently swore in Raymond Mikolasek as a new deputy chief for the Yorkville Police Department.
Golinski administered the oath to Mikolasek during a city council meeting Aug. 28.
Mikolasek began his career as a Yorkville police officer in August of 2004. He was promoted to sergeant in 2011. He has served as commander of the county's special response team.
Mikolasek served in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of sergeant. He holds a master's degree in criminal justice and police science.
Mikolasek replaces Larry Hilt, who recently retired as deputy chief.
Also at the Aug. 28 meeting, Golinski swore in Patrick McMahon as police sergeant.
