The Oswego Police Department has announced parking locations, alternative transportation and travel routes for the Cross Town football game on Friday, Oct. 5, at Oswego East High School.
Parking will be available in the paved parking lots of Oswego East High School until lots are full. Entrance into the event will only be permitted from the entrance off of Wolf Road. Signage on Wolf Road will inform incoming spectators when the lots are full.
Remote parking locations with shuttle buses to the event will be available at Oswego High School, Bednarcik and Plank Junior High parking lots. Additional handicapped parking will be available in the lot of OEHS. Those with handicapped parking passes should inform the first parking attendants they see upon entering the campus so they can be directed appropriately.
Oswego School District 308 will provide bus transportation from the remote parking lots at Oswego High School, Plank Junior High School and Bednarcik Junior High School. The service will begin at 4:15 p.m. with drop off at the east side of campus. Shuttle service back to the remote lots will be available at the conclusion of the game.
There will be the following restricted traffic routes following the game:
o Spectators exiting the East lots of OEHS will only be allowed to travel South on Harvey.
o Spectators exiting the rear of the school will use the bus exit and travel North on Harvey.
o Spectators exiting the West lots of OEHS will only be allowed to travel West on Wolf Rd.
Oswego Police Officers and Community Service Officers will be located at intersections most affected by the increase in traffic and will assist with traffic control in these areas. In an effort to reduce traffic congestion, spectators driving to the event are asked to carpool or use the provided shuttle buses. Spectators are asked to remain patient as the lots are expected to take longer than normal to clear.
