Police: Suspects altered scan codes on merchandise
Montgomery police arrested Sara A. Valente, 20, of the 0-99 block of Waterbury Lane, Schaumburg, and Quinn E. King, no age given, of Plano on charges of retail theft at a store in the 200 block of Orchard Road Oct. 5 at 2:49 p.m. Police said they were seen removing scan codes from merchandise and replacing them with scan codes of lesser value. The two then paid for the merchandise with the altered scan codes using the self checkout lanes. The suspects later posted bond and were released pending appearances at the county courthouse in Yorkville.
DUI arrest on Rt. 31
Montgomery police arrested John L. Hachmeister, 48, of Schaumburg after stopping his vehicle on a reckless driving complaint on Route 31 at Caterpillar Drive Oct. 6 at 3:33 p.m. Police said Hachmeister was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and having a suspended registration.
License, sticker violations
Montgomery police arrested Rogelio Arreola, 36, of the 100 block of North Elmwood, Aurora, after they stopped his vehicle in the 900 block of Aucutt Road, Oct. 5 at 2:48 p.m. Police said Arreola was charged with driving on a suspended license and for having an expired registration sticker.
