Oswego police arrested a female juvenile Wednesday evening at Plank Junior High School on a weapons charge for possession of a folding knife.
According to police, officers arrested a female juvenile from Montgomery at 510 Secretariat Lane, the address of Plank Junior High School, at 5:06 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, on charges of unauthorized possession of a weapon.
According to an email from Oswego Police Department spokesperson Cathy Nevara, the juvenile was in possession of a folding knife.
"The school was investigating a separate school conduct infraction and it was learned the juvenile had a folding knife in her possession," she wrote. "The school called the police and the juvenile was arrested, taken into custody for unauthorized possession of a weapon. She was processed at the Oswego Police Department and released to her parents pending a court date. The investigation did not reveal intent to use the knife at the school or other malicious intent."
