NAMI’s next Saturday Coffee event will be Dec. 8

NAMI Kane-south, DeKalb and Kendall Counties, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is sponsoring Saturday Coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 8.

“Managing the Holidays” will be presented by Hollyn Michaels, Psy.D, and Eileen Sullivan, LCSW, of Centennial Counseling Center. Topics will include mood disorders and other health conditions, self-care tips to manage the holidays, and mental health resources. The public is welcome to attend the free Saturday Coffee at Centennial Counseling, 1120 E. Main St., Suite 102 (Cedar Crossing Building), St. Charles.

For families and persons living with mental health conditions, NAMI KDK provides free support groups. NAMI Connection Recovery Group meets from noon to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at NAMI KDK office, 400 Mercy Lane, Aurora. DeKalb Family Support Group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 17 at Kishwaukee Hospital.
