DUI among charges after crash

Oswego police arrested Sergio A. Jimenez, 21, of the 1300 block of East New York Street, Aurora, after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Washington Street at Route 71 at 2:31 a.m. Dec. 29. Police said Jimenez, who was injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, no valid proof of insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance later this month.

Injured in Fifth Street crash

A 69-year-old Plainfield resident, Marie Defrancisco, was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Fifth Street at Kensington Drive in Oswego at 2:57 a.m. Dec. 22, according to village police. Police said Defrancisco was driving south on Fifth Street near Kensington Drive when she lost control of her vehicle and it went off the road, down an embankment and into a pond. Police said Defrancisco was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested Ryan M. Tanner, 19 of the 800 block of Sparkle Court, Oswego, at the village police station Dec. 26 at 6:33 p.m. on a DuPage County warrant. Tanner posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested Nakia F. Field, 22, no address given, on Route 34 at Pearce’s Ford Drive at 1:12 a.m. Dec. 29 on a DeKalb County warrant for failure to appear in court. Police said Fields was taken to the county jail pending court proceedings.

Released on bond

Oswego police arrested Sharla Y. Modaff, 47, of the 70 block of Osage Court at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30 in the 40 block of Park Street on a charge of criminal damage to property. Modaff later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.
