The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office has charged an Oswego resident, John S. Arrichiello, 31, of the 100 block of Eisenhower Lane, with felony aggravated battery in connection with the beating of an employee inside a gas station convenience store in the 6500 block of Orchard Road Monday, Jan. 7 at 3 a.m.
Police said officers were told that Arrichiello, who had been talking with the store employee for approximately 90 minutes, approached the 28 year-old employee when he stepped out of the store and allegedly punched him repeatedly until the employee got away and locked himself inside the store.
Officers encountered the two men still at the gas station when they arrived at the scene, according to police.
Police said the employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening facial injuries.
Arrichiello was transported to the County Jail in Yorkville pending a bond hearing, according to police.
Police said their investigation is continuing and anyone who may have information is asked to call the police department at 630-551-7300 or Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999 to leave an anonymous tip.
