Bosman, Engler lead Oswego basketball to win at Neuqua


Oswego: Samara Bosman scored 11 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter, and McKenna Engler scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half to go along with four steals in leading visiting Oswego past Neuqua Valley 60-51 on Tuesday.

Bosman hit two 3-pointers and made 3-for-4 at the free throw line in the fourth quarter for Oswego (13-4), which was tied 22-22 at halftime. Jenelle Rogers finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Julie Henrikson hit three of Oswego’s seven 3-pointers for nine points. Angelina Schlinger had four points, five assists and three steals.


Oswego: The Panthers beat Providence 42-40 on Saturday at the Orange and Blue mega duals. Earning pins were Luke Barron (126), Zach Bato (132), Samuel Saravia (138), Cole Pradel (160), Jake Duncan (182), David Miller (195) and Julian Flores (285).

Oswego lost to Barrington 42-24. Earning pins were Derek Torza (145) and Duncan at 182.

Oswego also beat Zion-Benton 45-26.

Oswego on Jan. 3 beat Plainfield South 41-29. Earning pins for Oswego were Barron (126), Torza (152), Thomas Dennehy (170), Duncan (182), David Miller (195) and Geno Lukowski (220).

Oswego beat Romeoville 49-15. Earning pins were Pradel (160) and Duncan (182).

Oswego beat Joliet Central 39-30. Earning pins were Sato (132), Torza (145), Pradel (160), Denny (170) and Flores (285).


Oswego: The Panthers won a dual with Plainfield East on Tuesday at Parkside Lanes. Senior Shannon Torrez led the way for Oswego with a solid 498 series followed closely by fellow senior Kaitlin Freundt (474) and sophomore Savanna Jourdan (448).

The JV squad outnumbered Plainfield East who competed with only four bowlers and the Panthers took all 10 points for the win. Sophomore Lily Ratledge (377) was high bowler for Oswego.

The Panthers dropped a dual meet to Joliet West on Jan. 3 at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet. The varsity team improved each game, shooting team sores of 718, 734, and 822 Leading the Oswego varsity team were Torrez (483) and Katie Ruegsegger (458), Jourdan (464), and junior Olivia Bell (445).

The Panther JV squad saw freshman Evelyn James lead the way with a solid 447 series.
