Plano City Council members last week approved the purchase of a 2019 Ford utility vehicle for the police department.
Police Chief Jonathon Whowell told council members that his vehicles all have high mileage on them and it is time to replace one of them.
The new vehicle will be purchased from Terry’s Ford of Peotone for $31,203, which includes license plates and title and free delivery.
The vehicle is a police utility 4X4 model with cloth seats in the front and vinyl in the rear. It has a V-6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, Whowell said. He said Terry’s Ford has been loyal to his department and the price is comparable with another dealer.
