Kindergarten registration for Plano School District 88 for the 2019-20 school year will be held on Wednesday, March 13, at P.H. Miller Elementary School.
P.H. Miller is the district’s primary attendance center and is located at 904 N. Lew St. in Plano. Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 7 p.m.
A child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019, to be eligible for kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year. Kindergarten is an all-day program.
Registering for kindergarten on March 13 will provide kindergarten staff the opportunity to briefly meet and assess the child. Additionally, accurate enrollment data from kindergarten registration allows district staff to effectively plan for the new school year, including the determination of how many kindergarten classes will be needed.
The school nurse will be present to explain the medical requirements for entry into kindergarten. Bring any current physical and immunization records with you to be evaluated by the district nurse. Kindergarten students must have a current physical and complete immunization records on file by the first day of school in order to attend.
An official birth certificate, documentation of Plano residency and a photo ID must be brought to registration. Items that will be accepted for residency include mortgage papers/tax bill, lease and utility bills.
No fees will be paid at registration. English-Spanish translators will be available for those families that need such services.
All kindergarten classes for the 2019-20 school year will be held at P.H. Miller School.
