The Open Roads ABATE of Illinois, Inc. Chapter is promoting the summer run books for bikers and car enthusiasts to enjoy this summer.

Chapter members Bill and Sally Kolb, Frank Lorang, Kevin and Patti Smith, Merrie and Larry Zastrezek, Sharyl and Sam Mataya, and Cliff and Linda Oleson coordinated this project to share their enthusiasm and excitement with others as a way to network with other chapters, organizations and communities, and to get people riding, either by bike or another means of transportation.

The book has 55 stops, including bike dealers, places of interest and bar/grills in the area from Interstate 80 to the Wisconsin border and Route 47 to the Mississippi River. Dates are from April 1 through Sept. 30 with a post party Oct. 5 at the Plano American Legion.

To determine winners, 40 stops with at least one bonus must be stamped to qualify for first-, second- and third-place cash prizes. Bonus stops are Antique Archaeology in LeClaire, Iowa, Farm Friends in Big Rock, Happy Joe’s Pizza in Galena, ABATE State Party on June 23 in Petersburg, Milwaukee H-D Museum, and Freedom and Awareness Rally on May 5 in Springfield.

Book donations are $10 each for safety and education projects.

Get your book now, ride with pride, visit new businesses and have fun. Call Linda at 630-552-3828, or Sally at 815-791-3435 or visit the Open Roads ABATE Facebook page to get a book.
