Facing DUI, other charges after crash
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lorenzo Garcia, 54, of the 6000 block of Walter Adamic Lane, Plainfield, at 6:05 p.m. March 17 after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a crash on Ridge Road and Bell Road in Seward Township. Police said Garcia was charged with driving under the influence and cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving in the wrong lane and driving without insurance. Garcia was transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville, where he later posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.
Battery under investigation
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a domestic battery at 12:11 a.m. March 18 in the 0-99 block of Eastfield Road in Boulder Hill. Police said the incident is under investigation.
Yorkville man cited in crash
Sheriff’s deputies ticketed Michael Berrios, 24, of the 0-99 block of Pletcher Drive, Yorkville, for following too closely after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a crash March 16 at 4:35 p.m. in the 8500 block of Route 47 in Kendall Township. Police said Berrios and the driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved in the crash, Jeffery Ashley, 67, and Louis Ashley, 66, both of the 13000 block of Ashley Road, all reported suffering minor injuries in the crash.
DUI arrest on Route 25
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Braeda Jones, 39, of Batavia Road, Warrenville, after stopping her vehicle at 12:31 a.m. March 15 on Route 25 at Boulder Hill Pass. Police said Jones was charged with driving under the influence. She was taken to the Kendall County Jail pending a bond hearing, police said.
Take assault report
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a physical assault at 4:51 p.m. March 16 in the 900 block of Vilimn Road in Little Rock Township. Police said the victim told deputies a man had approached him in an aggressive manner concerning a March 12 business deal. Police said the victim knows that man and declined to sign a complaint.
Sandwich man injured, cited in crash
A Sandwich resident, Nicholas Dyon, Jr., 24, of the 100 block of Oak Avenue, was injured at 3:35 a.m. March 17 when the vehicle he was driving in the 140000 block of Budd Road in Fox Township left the road and rolled over, striking a fence. Police said Dyon was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He also was ticketed for improper lane usage, police said.
Two hurt in Route 31 crash
Two people were hurt in a crash at 12:12 p.m. March 14 on Route 31 at Caterpillar Drive near Montgomery, according to the sheriff’s office. Police said Oswego Fire Protection District paramedics treated Eun Evans, 75, of Oswego at the scene, while paramedics took the driver of the other vehicle in the crash, Richard Krey, 63, of Montgomery, to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening. Police said they cited Evans for failure to yield while turning left.
Motorcyclists injured, cited
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a motorcycle crash at 11:02 p.m. March 12 on Ridge Road near Wheeler Road in NaAuSay Township. Police said the motorcyclist suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and then was cited for driving an uninsured vehicle.
Bristol area child abuse reported
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of child abuse at 10:45 p.m. March 12 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Police said officers were told that the incident occurred at noon March 10 in the 1000 block of Game Farm Road in Bristol Township. Police said their investigation into the incident is continuing.
Unauthorized withdrawals reported
A resident of Konrad Court, Newark, told sheriff’s deputies at 4:44 p.m. March 12 that an unauthorized subject has been making withdrawals from her checking account.
ID theft reported
A resident of Durango Road, Boulder Hill, told sheriff’s deputies at 3:30 p.m. March 12 that someone had opened an account in his name and then made purchases on the account in his name.
