To the Editor:
I’m running for trustee because I have faith in Oswego. I believe that residents want the same things: good schools, safe neighborhoods, prosperity, high quality shopping choices, and a sense of community. We can accomplish so much when we work together, and I know that our future is bright. I’m a dedicated servant, both in and out of public office. I was volunteering for homeless shelters, animal shelters, and civic groups long before I took the oath of office. I was also an Oswego Police Commissioner before getting elected. I believe in public service, and helping people wherever I can.
The last four years have been successful for Oswego, but challenges remain. In the past decade alone, Oswego’s population has grown nearly 20 percent, while staffing has been cut by more than 10 percent. The village has responded by increasing efficiency through shared services with surrounding communities.Oswego has a balanced budget, and continues to be a lean, highly efficient municipality.
I’ve spent the last four years listening to what residents want. If re-elected, I’ll spend the next four continuing to listen. I’m Ryan Kauffman, it would be an honor to have your vote on April 2. Thank you.
