YHS junior earns Eagle Scout rank

Yorkville resident Sam Golinski of Yorkville Boy Scout Troop 40 recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout. As a Scout, Golinski has earned 43 merit badges and five Eagle Palms. Golinski has served his troop in a variety of leadership roles and demonstrated his leadership skills and commitment to his community through his Eagle Scout Leadership Project. He planned and managed the efforts of 38 volunteers who performed 224 hours of work on the construction of three 18' x 24' Monarch Butterfly Waystation's for the Kendall County Historical Society at the Lyon Farm. Over 750 plants were planted that will provide nectar sources and the shelter needed to sustain monarch butterflies as they migrate through North America. Golinski is currently a junior at Yorkville High School.
