Roundup: Emma Salis pitching, Olivia Wells homer lead Wolves' softball past Joliet Central

SOFTBALL

Oswego East

Emma Salis pitched a two-hit shutout, and Olivia Wells went 3-for-3 with a double, her first varsity home run and six runs batted in for the Wolves in an 11-0 win over Joliet Central on Tuesday. Lily Dabrowski was 2-for-2 with an RBI and Mady Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Oswego East (9-3, 3-1 Southwest Prairie).

Grace Klingbeil struck out three, and went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Wolves in a 4-3 loss to Downers Grove North on Monday. Ashley Schultz hit two home runs and drove in four runs, Klingbeil went the distance in a three-hit shutout and Megan Leonard had two doubles and two RBIs in an 11-0 win over Batavia on Saturday. Salis struck out four in a complete-game effort, and Lexi McCauley went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in a 10-0 win over Romeoville on Friday. Schultz tripled and drove in two. Joliet West beat the Wolves 12-2 on April 3.

BASEBALL

Oswego

Jason Crafton and Matt Sorrells combined on a four-hitter, and Crafton went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI in a 4-3 win over Plainfield Central on Tuesday. Garry Maynard was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Jack Lemke 2-for-4 with a run and RBI for Oswego (6-6, 1-1). Crafton was 3-for-4 with a run scored in a 10-4 loss to Plainfield Central on Monday. The Panthers lost to Kaneland 3-2 on Saturday.

Oswego East

Adam Dowler (3-1) struck out eight over four innings, and Alex Kelsch was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs as the Wolves (7-3, 2-0) beat Plainfield East 9-5 on Tuesday. Collin Witzke had two RBIs and Connor Gill two runs scored. Alec Kohl was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
