Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale set for Saturday, May 18

Purchase plants cared for by Master Gardeners and get free presentations, advice

Join the Kendall County Master Gardeners May 18 for the group’s annual sale, and pick out prime plants and helpful hints, all for your garden.

The annual Kendall County Master Gardener Plant Sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Illinois Extension office, 7775B Illinois Route 47, in Yorkville.

In addition, Master Gardeners will provide two free presentations on popular home gardening topics:

• 9:30 am - “Raising Monarch Butterflies” with Patricia Baroni of Montgomery

• 10 a.m. - “Succulent Gardening” with Pat Hambly of Yorkville

The sale portion will include native, perennial and vegetable plants.

The Master Gardener volunteers started hundreds of seedlings, including multiple varieties of tomatoes and peppers. Payments may be made by cash or check only.

The University of Illinois Extension office is one mile south of the intersection of Route 71 and Route 47, at 7775B Illinois Route 47 in Yorkville.

Kendall County Master Gardeners also answer homeowner gardening and lawn care questions through the Help Desk, which is open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Extension office or by calling 630-553-5823.
