YORKVILLE – A Bartlett man allegedly stole work-related materials from his Yorkville employer and sold them to someone else without the employer's approval last year.
Michael R. Ellman, 41, of the 1100 block of Rose Court in Bartlett, has been charged with 18 counts of felony theft, with most of the charges being Class 4 felonies. If convicted, he could face up to 3 years in prison for one charge.
According to court documents, the thefts from Ellman's employer occurred between April 14 and Oct. 12, 2018. Miscellaneous gutter materials valued from $500 to $10,000 were taken, the documents show.
Ellman was booked at 2:57 a.m. Sunday, June 2 at the Kendall County Jail. Kendall County Chief Judge Robert Pilmer set bail at $25,000 for Ellman, meaning Ellman would have to post 10% to get out of jail.
Ellman is due back in court 9 a.m. Thursday, June 6 in courtroom 115 at the Kendall County Courthouse, 807 John St.
