An Oswego man who was arrested Aug. 16 by Oswego police on charges of domestic battery and violation of an order of protection was arrested by Kendall County Sheriff's Deputies four days later in Oswego on weapons-related charges.

Oswego police arrested Julian J. Newell, 19, of the 300 block of Ogden Falls Boulevard, Oswego, at 2:02 p.m. Aug. 16, at a store in the 2400 block of Route 34. Newell was charged with domestic battery and violation of an order of protection.

He was transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville where he later posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.

County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Newell Aug. 20 at 10:01 p.m. on Route 34 at Ogden Falls Boulevard in Oswego after they observed the vehicle he was driving had an expired registration.

Police said Newell was taken into custody without incident on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon without a FOID (Firearm Owner's Identification Card) and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Newell is being held at the County Jail on the Aug. 20 charges pending a bond hearing.
