Rejoice Lutheran Church in Geneva will host Last Call Before Fall, a community festival, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, outdoors at the church, 0N377 N. Mill Creek Drive in Geneva.
Proceeds will benefit Montgomery-based Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Faith Build, a partnership of area faith communities including Rejoice Lutheran. Build volunteers are erecting a Habitat home at 1530 Solfisburg Ave. in Aurora.
A church announcement said $20,000 is the goal of the fundraiser. The public is invited. Admission and parking are free.
Activities will be offered for children and adults. Children can enjoy inflatables, pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, bounce house, obstacle course and slip down slides.
Activities for adults will include a bags tournament, ax throwing and a car show featuring Corvettes and a Tesla model X. Raffles will include Bears tickets.
Recycle The Day, a high-energy Chicago cover band, will play popular hits from Motown to today during the afternoon.
A beer tent will offer beer and wine. Food will be offered by Dave’s Slow Food Truck, Kona Ice Truck, Toasty Taco, Toasty Cheese and Crave Food Bar.
Robin Beattie, festival organizer, said "Last Call Before Fall is the perfect way to bring the community together to celebrate the final days of summer and create memories that will last all year long with family, friends and neighbors."
