Roundup: Christian Sovern's career-high 34 points lead Yorkville Christian past Leland

Yorkville Christian

Christian Sovern scored a career-high 34 points with six 3-pointers for the Mustangs in a 93-29 win over Leland on Monday. Elijah Fisher added 27 points and Brayden Long eight.

Parkview Christian

Lehman Lanehart scored 22 points and Sammy Swenson added 15 for the Falcons in a 58-51 loss to Earlville. Swenson had 13 points and 15 rebounds in a 55-38 loss to Harvest Christian. Lanehart scored 22 points and Swenson 21 in a 65-60 loss to Families of Faith.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Newark

Jocelyn Mitchell scored 19 points, Kaitlyn Hatteberg added 13, Meggie Scott had 13 points and nine assists and Kellie Snyder grabbed 15 rebounds for Newark (14-6, 4-1) in a 57-52 loss to Indian Creek.

GIRLS BOWLING

Oswego

The Panthers' varsity team had a total pinfall of 5,288 for third place at Sycamore's Matt Clark Invite on Saturday at Mardi Gras Lanes in DeKalb. Lani Breedlove bowled a 1,098 series for 12th place. Savanna Jourdan bowled a 1,084 for 13th place, Katelyn Watson a 1,057, Lily Ratledge a 1,044 and Evelyn James a 1,014.

Oswego's JV team bowled a 4,294 for second place, the team's highest finish of the season. Lexi Dellaca bowled a 948 series for fifth place.
