Roundup: Oswego girls basketball loses close call at No. 1 Benet

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oswego

Julia Henrikson scored 14 points and hit four of Oswego's nine 3-pointers in a 66-62 loss at Class 4A No. 1-ranked Benet on Saturday.

Jenelle Rogers added 12 points and 11 rebounds, Mia Moore had seven points and eight rebounds, Angelina Schlinger and Danielle Dorilio eight points each, McKenna Engler seven points and Taylor Tarver six rebounds for Oswego.

Plano

Maddie Jude and Lily Fernandez each scored nine points for Plano (7-17, 2-6) in a 34-32 loss to Morris.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Yorkville Christian

Jaden Schutt scored 26 points and Micah Schnyders added 23 for the Mustangs in a 78-72 loss to Crete-Monee.

SWIMMING AND DIVING

Oswego Co-op

The Oswego High School boys Co-op Swimming competed in two meets this week. On Tuesday, varsity defeated Plainfield Co-op 120-65. Bobby Peterson won the 100 butterfly with a 52.90, and other individual winners included; Austin Millard (200 free), Dean Ramsbottom (50 free) and Sam Petasnick (diving).

On Thursday Oswego's varsity beat Benet 142-37. At the meet freshman Nate Skrocki broke 50 seconds for the first time in the 100 free with a time of 48.96. Other first place wins, Garrett O’Grady (200 free), Austin Millard (200 IM),Beckett McGraw (50 free), Sam Petasnick (diving), Bobby Peterson (500 free), and Mason Hodge (100 back).
