Fire damages Oswego home, vehicle; firefighters rescue dog

STORY UPDATED AT 5 P.M. FRIDAY, MAY 22

Oswego Protection District Firefighters extinguished a fire at 12:45 p.m. Friday, May 22 at a single family home in the 200 block of Isleview Drive in Oswego's Deerpath Creek subdivision.

In a press release, the fire district reported that firefighters found an attached garage and a vehicle parked in the driveway on fire when they arrived at the residence.

Firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes upon arrival, according to the press release.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Firefighters located a dog and removed it from the house. The dog did not appear to have any injuries, the fire district reported.

The fire does not have appear to be suspicious in nature.

During the incident the Montgomery and Countryside, Plainfield and Sugar Grove Fire Protection Districts provided assistance.
