Shoppers perused shelves of vintage lunchboxes, recycled crafts, costume jewelry and other items Sunday morning, June 9, during the Sunday at Sandwich Antique Flea Market at the Sandwich Fairgrounds.
A seasonal event, the monthly flea market started last month and features local and visiting vendors selling a range of goods, from antiques, collectibles and furniture to plants, pottery, and crafts. Musical entertainment was provided Sunday by the Chicago band Fox Crossing Stringband.
Several vendors, including Curt Ames of South Elgin, have participated for many years at the flea market or at one of several other antiques shows at the fairgrounds.
Ames, who has come to the fairgrounds to sell his goods on and off for the past 25 years, said he keeps coming back.
Ames said that the fairgrounds sometimes can prove to be a moneymaker for him.
“It depends on if people want to spend money,” he said.
Sunday at Sandwich will return to the fairgrounds from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., July 14, with $5 admission; attendees 12 and under admitted free. The fairgrounds is at 1401 Suydam Road.
